The L Restriction of the Eisenstein Series to a Geodesic Segment
نویسنده
چکیده
We study the L norm of the Eisenstein series E(z, 1/2+iT ) restricted to a segment of a geodesic connecting infinity and an arbitrary real. We conjecture that on slightly thickened geodesics of this form, the Eisenstein series satifies restricted QUE. We prove a lower bound that matches this predicted asymptotic. We also prove an upper bound that nearly matches the lower bound assuming the Riemann Hypothesis (unconditionally, the sharp upper bound holds for almost all T ). Finally, we show the restricted QUE conjecture for geodesics with rational endpoints.

متن کاملA Note on the Sup Norm of Eisenstein Series
The sup norm problem has been an active area and now there exist non-trivial estimates for cusp forms of large level, on higher rank groups, and for half-integral weight forms [BH] [T1] [HT1] [HT2] [T2] [HRR] [BP] [BM] [M] [K]. Nevertheless, the basic estimate for Γ = PSL2(Z) in the eigenvalue aspect has not been improved. The case of Eisenstein series seems to have been largely neglected up to...
متن کاملThe Quantum Unique Ergodicity Conjecture for Thin Sets
We consider some analogs of the quantum unique ergodicity conjecture for geodesics, horocycles, or “shrinking” families of sets. In particular, we prove the analog of the QUE conjecture for Eisenstein series restricted to the infinite geodesic connecting 0 and ∞ inside the modular surface.
متن کاملStandard compact periods for Eisenstein series
When o has larger class number, linear combinations of CM-point values corresponding to the ideal classes yield the corresponding ratio. This example was understood in the 19th century, and is the simplest in well-known families of special values and periods of Eisenstein series. The next case in order of increasing complexity is that of integrals of the same Es along hyperbolic geodesics in H ...
